The Canine Campaign
A shelter dog adoption campaign run by Motorworks Brewing in Bradenton, Florida, has led to a heartwarming reunion between a woman and her lost dog.
Motorworks Brewing, a brewery located in Bradenton, Florida, initiated a shelter dog adoption campaign by showcasing photos of adoptable dogs from Manatee County Animal Services on their beer cans.
The objective of this campaign was two-fold: to raise funds for the shelter and to boost the number of adoptions.
Three Years Missing
Three years ago, Monica Mathis lost her beloved terrier mix named Hazel from her yard in Iowa. Hazel was microchipped, but the shelter was unable to contact Monica due to outdated contact information.
As a result, Hazel remained missing for three long years, and Monica had given up hope of ever seeing her furry friend again.
A Chance Encounter
One day, as Mathis was scrolling through her Facebook feed, she noticed a post from Motorworks Brewing.
The post featured a photo of a dog on one of their beer cans, and the dog looked familiar.
Upon closer inspection, Mathis realized that the dog in the photo was none other than her long-lost Hazel. Overwhelmed with emotion, Mathis contacted the brewery to confirm that the dog on the can was indeed her beloved pet
Reunited at Last
The brewery was able to put Mathis in touch with the shelter where Hazel had been found, and they were thrilled to reunite the two after three long years.
Mathis could hardly contain her excitement as she made plans to fly from Iowa to Florida to be reunited with her furry friend.
The chance encounter with the beer can photo had given Mathis the best news she could have hoped for: her beloved Hazel was alive and well, and they would soon be together again.
Thanks to the help of Friends of Manatee County Animal Services, Hazel will be shipped to Mathis’ home in Minnesota for free, just in time to celebrate her seventh birthday.
The reunion has brought tears to the eyes of many, reminding everyone of the importance of microchipping and updating contact information for their pets.
