Mysterious disappearance
Delilah, a senior Chihuahua now thirteen years old, mysteriously disappeared from her owners’ back yard three years ago.

A shivering discovery
Last Wednesday, a heartwarming turn of events occurred. Delilah was discovered shivering in a box outside a Richmond Trail Appliances store.
The BC SPCA, responding to the call, quickly arrived to rescue the distressed pup.
Emma Michel, assistant manager at the Richmond SPCA, described Delilah’s condition as heartbreaking. The Chihuahua was emaciated, dehydrated, partially deaf and blind, toothless, anemic, and suspected of having frostbite on her ears.
The compassionate staff at the BC SPCA wasted no time providing Delilah with the medical attention she desperately needed.
They also took to social media, posting her photo on Facebook in the hopes of finding her owner. It was during this online search that a follower of the SPCA’s page recognized Delilah.
She remembered a woman who had been searching for a lost Chihuahua resembling Delilah several years ago. A spark of hope ignited as the pieces of the puzzle started coming together.
The joyful reunion
Word quickly reached Delilah’s owner, who promptly contacted the SPCA, hoping against hope that the little Chihuahua they saw online was their long-lost Delilah. The SPCA diligently worked to verify the owner’s claims, and to their amazement and delight, it turned out to be true.
The moment of reunion was one filled with overwhelming emotions. Delilah’s family, accompanied by the SPCA team, arrived to find their cherished pet waiting eagerly, despite her impaired sight and hearing. Tears of joy flowed freely as Delilah recognized her family and crawled out of her bed to greet them.
A Christmas blessing
Delilah’s family expressed their immense gratitude and joy, knowing that they would be spending this Christmas together with their precious companion.
