Stories of lost pets being reunited with their families after months or even years of separation never fail to warm our hearts. This particular rescue story, reported by @jasminenoffsinger (Tiktok) highlights the importance of microchipping and the perseverance needed to find lost pets.
Jasmine Noffsinger and her sister spotted a skinny dog walking down the side of the road. After coaxing the friendly pup into their car, they discovered that he had a microchip but his information couldn’t be retrieved.
Fortunately, the microchip company had the dog’s information on file, and they were able to contact his owner.
When the owner heard that her beloved dog, Hamm, had been found, she was in disbelief. Hamm had been missing since February 2021 from his home 450 miles away from where he was found. Noffsinger met the owner halfway in Tallahassee for the emotional reunion.
Despite being missing for two years, Hamm recognized his mom immediately and hopped right into her car. Noffsinger reminds pet owners to get their pets microchipped and make sure that their information is up-to-date.
She also encourages those who find a lost pet with a microchip to go the extra mile to contact the owner and reunite them with their furry friend.
